Arriva Midlands

Transferred here from Arriva Merseyside at Speke are DAF SB200/Wright Commanders 2583, 2584, 2586, 2597 and 2598. They have been renumbered as 3483, 3484, 3486, 3497 and 3498 respectively, with the latter two having already entered service at Derby on local services. They are destined for the East Midlands Airport contract, which they will be refurbished for in due course.

Optare Versas 2938 and 2940 have been repainted into ‘journey mark’ at Thurmaston.


D&G Bus

Optare Metrocity YJ64DWK has been acquired. Now numbered 144, and in use at the Chaserider operation from Cannock.


Delaine Buses

New ADL Enviro 200MMC 170 (AD22DBL) was collected from ADL Scarborough on 24th March 2022 and following application of graphics on
28th March 2022 it entered service the following morning on the 09:15 201 Bourne-Peterborough vis Stamford service.

East Yorkshire

Transferred from Go North East, and now re-numbered 8 in this fleet, is Volvo B11R/Levante BX16CKP (which was 7130 in the Go North East fleet).

On loan from Go North West is driver trainer Volvo B7RLE NK54NUP, which will retain its Go North West 9002 fleet number whilst here.

The Scarborough Beachcomber open top operation restarted on 9th April 2022 with open top Volvo B7TLs 889-895 being relicensed and transferred to the operational fleet at Scarborough.

Vehicles delicenced in April were Volvo B9R 81, Volvo B7TLs 700, 701 and 704, and Volvo B9TL 711.

The latest repaint here is of Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclpise-Urban 348.

From 10th April Enviro 400MMC 929 is being transferred from Bridlington to Pocklington in exchange for Volvo B9TL 765.

Ensign Fleet
Volvo 130 has been painted in special gold livery to celebrate Ensign’s 50th anniversary.


First Cymru

Noted at Swansea Ravenhill depot on 20th April were Enviro 400 MMC 33980 and 33982, which have transferred from First Glasgow.

Now a training vehicle in this fleet is Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse-Urban 69210.


First Essex

Currently being received here are 7 Enviro 400 MMCs (33983-989) from First Glasgow, with 33984 and 33988 noted at Basildon depot in early April.

Of note, Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse-Urban 66819 is now withdrawn, at Basildon, with similar 66825 now in use as a training vehicle here.


First Midlands

Arrived here from First West of England are Excel liveried ADL Enviro 400s 33547, 33554, 33565 and 33566. More are expected to follow, and these will help replace the oldest Volvo B7TLs at Adderley Green, as well as cascade the youngest (37156-160) to First Cymru.

Further Wright Streetlite DFs to be repainted into the tri-tone orange livery at Adderley Green for routes 3 and 4, are 63116, 63146 and 63175.

Now withdrawn are Scania N94UB OmniCities 65001 and 65026 at Adderley Green.

Kev’s of Bromsgrove

This operator drastically saw a lot of change after a depot fire on Friday 11th March. All of their low floor buses were sadly destroyed except Optare Solo SR YJ62FYZ. This included 13 Enviro 200 MMCs ranging from 2016 to 2021, 3 other Optare Solo SRs and Plaxton Primo KX59GOA, the last of its kind that had been in use here.

Buses immediately hired in from Tuesday 15th March were Mercedes-Benz 614D VU06VOH from Worcestershire County Council, along with Dennis Trident 120 (YN51KVT) and 6 Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urbans (former National Express West Midlands 1754, 1755, 1757, 1760, 1763 and 1769) from The Green Bus. From Friday 22nd March, brand new ADL Enviro 200 MMCs YX22OJD, YX22OHJ and YX22OHK entered service, for use on the 39/A services.

Dealer white ADL Enviro 200s now in use are YX61ELH, YX67UXO and YX17NYY, which was last with nearby Claribels Coaches. Recently off-leased former Abellio London ADL Enviro 200s reported here still in London red are YX61GAA, YX61GAO, YX61GAU, YX61GBE and YX61GBF. The E200s are being used across all of Kev’s local services, whilst repainted Volvo B7RLEs BX56XCD (1760), BX56XCG (1763) and BX56XCN (1769) remain in use on the 19 service.

Megabus/Scottish Citylink

Now in Citylink livery and part of the Scottish Citylink fleet based at Stagecoach West Scotland’s Cumbernauld depot is Volvo B11R 54260. Also now at Cumbernauld in the Joint Venture fleet are Volvo B11Rs 54258 and 54339 along with Volvo B11RLE 50404. Similar 50406 has returned to use following completion of repairs.

The final three operational Joint Venture Van Hool Sleeper coaches have been stood down at Cumbernauld. 50313 is for repairs whilst 50309 and 50312 are for transfer to Stagecoach East Scotland. Although nominally undergoing repairs 50305/310/131/313 are all expected to be sold.

Stagecoach West Scotland’s Kilmarnock depot now has a number of Joint Venture duties and as a result Volvo B11RLEs 50413-419 have been transferred there from Cumbernauld, whilst at Cumbernauld Van Hool Astromega 50252 is now for disposal.

Reserve/Stored Volvo B11Rs 54207/08 have been returned to the operational Megabus fleet at Stagecoach South Wales’ Cwmbran depot increasing the Megabus allocation there to 17 vehicles.


Midland Classic

ADL Enviro 200 32 (YX09FMP) has passed on to Hattons Travel of St Helens.


National Express West Midlands

In for repaint are Scania K230UB Omnilinks 1805 and 1827, based at Acocks Green and Perry Barr respectively.

More Scania K230UB Omnilinks to move into the reserve fleet are 1807, 1808, 1809 and 7030 from Perry Barr, 1837 and 1839 from Walsall, and 1924 from Yardley Wood. These are being stored at Pensnett depot. Meanwhile 1953 has transferred from Perry Barr to Yardley Wood, to replace 1924.

Now withdrawn here are Dennis Tridents 4310, 4314 and 4456 (at Wolverhampton), 4352 and 4569 (at Walsal)l and 4545, 4585 and 4589 (at Yardley Wood). Also withdrawn are Volvo B7TL/ALX400s 4277 and 4288 at Acocks Green.

Dennis Trident 4464 has returned from its spell at Coventry, and has reentered service at Wolverhampton. Similar 4634 has transferred from Birmingham Central to Wolverhampton. Enviro 400 4733 has transferred from Walsall to Yardley Wood. Enviro 400 MMC 6146 has transferred from Perry Barr to Acocks Green.

Enviro 400 5406 based at Wolverhampton is the next to undergo straight diesel conversion at East Yorkshire’s Scarborough premises.

Previously withdrawn Volvo B10L/Wright Liberator driver trainer 1450 has passed to a private owner to provide spares for similar preserved examples. Volvo B7TL/ALX400 4230 has passed to The Green Bus, where it has been broken up at their Miller Street depot, to aid in testing new technology.

Previously withdrawn Dennis Tridents 4308, 4317, 4324, 4338, 4350, 4358, 4363, 4408, 4412, 4437, 4447, 4457, 4462 and 4465, as well as Volvo B7TL/ALX400 4416 have all been sent for scrap.

Select Bus Services

Now withdrawn here is Enviro 200 SN56AYB. Its place as fleet number 2 has been taken by newly acquired Optare Solo MX55WDJ, last with Crawley Luxury.


Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire

Look out for the first Optare Solo bought by Stagecoach, 47001, receiving a repaint into the ‘Beachball’ livery and becoming part of the Stagecoach ‘heritage’ fleet. The vehicle was new to Stagecoach Midland Red at Leamington.

Several vehicles from the Strategic Reserve Fleet have been returned to service including Open Top Tridents 17489/490 (West Cumbria) and 17692 (Carlisle); Open Top Volvo B5TL 13801/802/803/805, Enviro 200s 36100/101 and Optare Solo 47237 (Kendal); Scania/Enviro 400 15921 at West Cumbria and Optare Solos 47394/449/616 at West Cumbria.

Enviro 300s 27744/745/749/753 have transferred from Morecambe to Carlisle. MAN/Enviro 300s 22872/874/876 have moved from Carlisle to the Strategic Reserve Fleet at Morecambe.

Vehicles now for disposal are Dart SLFs 34565 and 34708 along with Optare Solo 47058.


Stagecoach East

Enviro 400 MMC 10867 has been repainted into ‘Platinum Jubilee’ livery, whilst Enviro 400 10054 is the latest here to receive Stagecoach ‘Local’ livery (pictured below).

Stagecoach East Midlands

Former Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire open top Trident 17479 has joined the Skegness Seasiders and has been given a pink-based livery with ice cream cone graphics and named ‘Scoop the Seasider’. It entered service for the 2022 season on 2nd April, along with other Skegness Seasiders, Volvo B7TLs 16964 and 16966, Tridents 17016/677/678 and 18473, and Enviro 400 19169. On the same date the Cleethorpes Seasider operation also restarted, utilising resident Volvo B7TL 16962 and Skegness-allocated Trident 17015 (which is covering for the other resident Volvo B7TL - 16965, which is currently receiving repairs). Open Top Volvo B7TL 16943 was reinstated at Lincoln during late March.

Trident 18428 at Mansfield has been delicensed and replaced in the main fleet by 18035 from the Reserve Fleet. At Gainsborough Tridents 18027 and 18050 have transferred to the Reserve Fleet with Trident 18027 and Dart SLF 34570 moving from the Reserve Fleet to the main fleet.

Of note, Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse-Geminis 16939 and 16944 are currently out of service , and have been since late November and mid January respectfully. 16944, the sole Gemini here to carry ‘Local’ livery here, is currently parked at Grimsby depot.

Latest recipients of ‘Local’ livery here are Enviro 40 19142 and Trident 18433. Next in line for repaint at Lincoln depot are Enviro 200 MMC 37458 and Enviro 300 27635. Notably Trident 18433 had been absent from service since 27th January, following a gearbox failure (with a replacement unit now fitted).

Stagecoach East Scotland

We have received reports that Perth-allocated Trident/ALX400 18016 has been damaged after catching fire.

The two Van Hool Sleeper coaches transferred here from Stagecoach West Scotland, 50309/312, are being prepared for service with the Rennies fleet. Optare Versas 25251/64 from Dunfermline have transferred to the Reserve Fleet whilst 25252 is stood down for long-term repairs.

Following the entry into service of the BYD/Enviro200EVs, 29110-118, a number of Enviro 300s have been transferred with 27117-120 to Arbroath, 27121-124 to Dunfermline and 27125 and 27126 to Glenrothes. Other Enviro 300 transfers are 27545/546 from Arbroath to Aberhill, 27551 from Arbroath to Dunfermline and 27612 from Glenrothes to Perth, whilst now in the Reserve Fleet are 27527 (at Arbroath), 27529 (at Aberhill) and 27531 (at Dunfermline). Optare Solo SR 47870 has returned to service at Arbroath following repairs.

We have received reports that at least some of the Volvo B5LH/Enviro 400s at Arbroath are being swapped for Scania/Enviro 400s from Aberhill. The reports suggest 13041/044 are now at Aberhill with 15625/626/627/628/630 at Arbroath.


Stagecoach London

Now converted to open top layout, Scania OmniCitys 15024/026/027/030 have been allocated to the City Sightseeing operation allowing the two Volvo B5TL open top vehicles on loan here from Stagecoach East, 13808 and 13812, to be returned.

Enviro 200 36371 has transferred from West Ham to Catford.


Stagecoach Manchester

Trident 18360 has been donated to charity and has left the fleet.

Enviro 400s which had been ‘on loan’ to Stagecoach Yorkshire (19199/220/222/224) have now been formally transferred. 19228, which had also been ‘on loan’ has been swapped for 19226 which is now also formally transferred to Stagecoach Yorkshire.

Enviro 400 MMC 10467 and 10626 have been repainted into ‘Platinum Jubilee’ livery.


Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire

Formally allocated to Chester for the 2022 Chester City Sightseeing season are newly-converted open top Volvo B9TLs 16957 and 16958 and Enviro 400 19168. Open Top Trident 17502 remains here in the Reserve Fleet.

Enviro 200s 36185 and 36805 have transferred from Preston to Birkenhead.

Enviro 400 MMC 10565 now carries ‘Platinum Jubilee’ livery.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird)

Volvo B9R 53610 is now for disposal whilst similar 53626 has been sold to Moffat & Williamson.

MAN/Enviro 300 22572, which had been on loan from Stagecoach East Scotland, has now formally been transferred here and is at Aberdeen.

Further ADL Enviro 400City EVs delivered and stored pending entry into service are 14036/040/042/046/048-055.


Stagecoach North Scotland (Highlands)

Inverness-allocated Enviro 400 19041 has been repainted into traditional red Highland livery.

A clear out of surplus vehicles has seen Volvo B7RLEs 21208/209/210; Optare Solos 47252/566/588 and Volvo B9R 53624 being scrapped with Volvo B7Rs 53254/293 and 53305 along with Volvo B9Rs 53606/607/612/615/616 being sold to Ensign Bus.

Volvo B9R 53617 has joined the training fleet at Inverness as a replacement for sold 53606.

It has been confirmed that former Stagecoach East Volvo B11R 54303 is with this fleet and has been allocated to Tain, having replaced now sold Volvo B9R 53616. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 44027 is now a staff shuttle vehicle at Inverness.

Now at Inverness from the Reserve Fleet are Enviro 200 36955 and Volvo B9R 53623 whilst transferred into the Reserve Fleet are Enviro 200s 36204 and 36953; Volvo B13Rs 54118/119 and Volvo B9Rs 53618/631/633.


Stagecoach South

Optare Solo SRs 47928 and 47929 were transferred from Aldershot to Guildford in late March 2022 in exchange for Optare Solo SL 47307 and Enviro 200 36433. Other Enviro 200s now at Aldershot are 36431/434/435.

Platinum Jubilee-liveried Enviro 400 MMC 10945 moved from Worthing to Portsmouth in early April 2022, in exchange for ‘Poppy’ branded Scania/Enviro 400 15989. Enviro 400 19069 has transferred from Guildford to Andover with 19885 moving into the Reserve Fleet at Andover.

All five MAN/Enviro 200s at Aldershot (39652-56) are in the Reserve Fleet there and have not been authorised for disposal. Now for disposal are Volvo B7TLs 16931/932 and Optare Solo 47542.

Repainted into ‘Local’ livery are Trident 18078 and 18504, and Enviro 300s 27616, 27617, 27621 and 27622.


Stagecoach South East

Reserve Fleet Dart SLF 34650 has transferred from Ashford to the main fleet at Dover. Reserve Fleet Enviro 300 27891 has transferred from Herne Bay to the main fleet at Eastbourne, with 27575 transferring from Eastbourne to the Reserve Fleet and being parked up at Herne Bay.

Optare Solo 47118 is now for disposal whilst stood down for long term repairs are Trident 18080 at Ashford and Optare Solo 47481 at Hastings.

Delivered at the end of March 2022 and in Canterbury Park & Ride livery are Enviro 200MMCs 26354/355/356, whilst 26357/358/359 are at Dover being prepared for service.


Stagecoach South Wales

Now for disposal here are Optare Solo 47717 and Dart SLF 34754, whilst Optare Solo 47191, which had been for disposal, has been returned to service at Porth.

The Optare Solo Publicity Vehicle, 47752, has not been used since the start of the first Covid ‘Lockdown’ period in March 2020 and is believed to now be for disposal.

Currently being transferred from Cwmbran to Porth are Scania/Enviro 400 MMCs 15613, 15754, 15838, 15964 and 15965.

Enviro 300 27689 has been repainted into ‘Platinum Jubilee’ livery.


Stagecoach South West

Dart SLFs 34867 and 35167 are now for disposal here, whilst also for disposal is accident damaged Scania/Enviro 400 15929. Optare Solos 47091 and 47099 have transferred from Plymouth to the Reserve Fleet at Exeter.


Stagecoach West Scotland

Volvo B11Rs 54339 and 54258/260 along with Volvo B11RLE 50404 have transferred to the Stagecoach Megabus/Citylink fleet at Cumbernauld.

Enviro 200MMCs 37490/491/492 have been transferred from Ayr to Ardrossan where Scania/Enviro 300 28657 has returned to service following repairs. Reserve Fleet Optare Solo 47497 is now allocated to Stranraer where it has displaced similar 47459 to the Reserve Fleet at Kilmarnock. Enviro 300s 27225 and 27226 have transferred from Ayr to Cumbernauld with 27227 and 27228 to follow.


Stagecoach Yorkshire

In Platinum Jubilee livery here are two Enviro 400 MMCs, 10657 at Barnsley and former ‘Gold’ liveried 11125 at Chesterfield. 11125 has also received cherished registration PHE692.

Enviro 400s which had been ‘on loan’ from Stagecoach Manchester (19199/220/222/224) have now been formally transferred here. 19228, which had also been ‘on loan’ has been swapped for 19226 which is now also formally transferred here from Stagecoach Manchester.

Recent sales of withdrawn vehicles to A H Hardwick (dealer) include Scania/East Lancs 15414; MAN/ALX300s 22435/445; MAN/Enviro 300 22542 and Dart SLFs 35109/115/116/232. Now for disposal are Enviro 400 19036, MAN/Enviro 300 22632 and Dart SLF 35230.

MAN/Enviro 300s 22562 and 22615 have moved to the Reserve Fleet at Rawmarsh following completion of repairs on Enviro 200s 36986 and 39690 whilst Enviro 400H Hybrid 12167 at Holbrook and Scania/Enviro 400 15190 at Chesterfield are delicensed for long- term repairs.


The Green Bus

Acquired here are all of the former National Express West Midlands Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urbans. Buses 1750-1758 have been taken for resale, and retain their previous two-tone red livery. Meanwhile 1759-1772 are in the process of being repainted into overall dark green, pending the application of vinyls to complete a new livery. As noted above, some have entered service on loan to Kev’s of Bromsgrove. The first to enter service with TGB themselves was BX56XCR, former NXWM 1772, now numbered 714.


Thomas of Rhondda

Noted here is newly acquired Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse-Gemini LK53LYP (former First West Of England 32331). It has been painted all over white, and is to be used on school services from this operators depot in Porth.


Vallances Coaches

Noted now carrying fleet names is Mercedes Benz Tourismo NH15CDH.


Wellglade Group

Trentbarton Optare Solo 476 is currently out of service at Langley Mill.
